He said...

So, Bryce spends most of his time cracking us up. Sometimes despite ourselves. I'll try to capture some of the recents... 'Billie Jean' came on the radio. I said 'Bryce, this is Michael Jackson.' Bryce: 'Oh'. 1 minute later 'Michael Jackson is a gwirl? (girl)'. Me: 'no, Michael Jackson is a boy.' Speaking of, there are certain things Bryce says that sound too cute to correct. Salky Dog for Salty Dog, gwirl or guirrel (rhymes with squirrel) for girl, still speaking in the third person at times (this dinner is yummy for Bryce!) We also find his affirmations endearing. For instance, Me: 'Bryce, I like your shirt.' Bryce: 'yeah you do.' Me: 'I like to play baseball with you.' Bryce: 'Yes you do!'.
Our loving son is big on independence these days. On the way upstairs, Bryce may at times turn around and yell 'not you! only me!' At other times, it may be 'Bryce and Mommy are going outside. Not daddy and not Brooke.' Or even, 'Mommy and Daddy and Bryce are eating dinner. Not Brooke.' When asked why not Brooke the answer is some form of 'not now, when she gets bigger.' Or, 'Can Brooke play baseball?' 'Noooo, when she is bigger she will.'
Apparently he has QUITE an influence in his life too. Bryce has taken up squinting at times when he talks. Who does that, Bryce? 'Grammy.' When going through a tunnel- and underpass- on the way home each day Bryce opens up his mouth and says 'Aaahhhh'. Who taught you that Bryce? 'Grammy.' Bryce was sitting at lunch with his chin in both hands- something new to us. Where did you learn that Bryce? You guessed it- that clever 'grammy' is at it again. We're quite sure Grammy has not, in fact, taught him any of things. Is it just a name to throw out there? Or is he under the impression that if he says Grammy did it it has more weight behind it? Hmmmm...
