Happy Easter! We had quite a few adventures. Easter morning started with evidence of a visit from the famous spring bunny. Speaking of... as Brooke worked her way around a giant chocolate bunny as if it were corn on the cob, I got a first-hand glimpse of the sweet tooth she inherited from her father. Bryce could not keep up with the confection consumption as he was TOO excited about the Superman figure he got in his Easter basket!
After a backyard egg hunt we met Kate, Johnny and Tad at church. Perhaps the highlight of this was when Brooke declared, upon seeing the collection plate, 'I GO TO THE DOLLAR STORE JOHNNY!' Good thing it was Easter. Due to the onslaught of the C & E Catholics, we were in the back of the parish hall.
This adventure was followed by a super one indeed. We headed to the Bremen Museum for the Super hero exhibit- the golden age of comic books. After Mike helped the kids don the museum-provided costumes, we proceeded to play in the batmobile- repeatedly- draw our own comic strips, learn about comics and even watch an old (you would be astounded by the 'special effects') episode of Superman featuring the evil Spider Woman.
Of course, no weekend would be complete without descending upon Kate and Johnny's, tearing up their house and wearing out our welcome. Aunt Kate had even set up another Easter egg hunt- wow!
We then enjoyed an amazing feast including smoked beef tenderloin from Johnny and homemade ice cream and cookies from Kate- and a visit with Addie and Gwynne! Addie even brought our favorite spinach casserole and was then a big sport as we tried to get a shot of her with the 3 cousins. We had dubious success. We didn't catch Gwynne on film. It's possible she was trying to self-medicate to survive the onslaught of sticky-handed short people.
