Summertime!

Here are some of our summer activities and adventures!

William and Heather Trainor came to a small gathering at our house in June.  How is it that my little godson is now big enough to carry our little Brooke?

Grammy and Poppa took the kids to see Madagascar 3 at Phipps.  SOMEhow that also ended up in a trip to the Lego store.  Here Poppa is working on a masterpiece with Bryce.  From this experience Bryce learned that it is important to follow the directions.
Soon thereafter, after receiving a Fin McMissile Lego model to build from Grammy (as a reward for encouraging Brooke to - finall- successfully 'poopy on the potty'.  Don't ask), Bryce raced in the house, tore open the box, and spread out the directions.  He rapidly assembled the character- down to the last accessories- and was proud to tell Grammy that he did it by following directions!!

Who knew?  All it takes for Brooke to sleep is an active day at Grammy and Poppa's!

It's a good thing we got this hammock.  For Mike. For his birthday.  I think these 2 critters have spent more time in it than he has!  Oh well, perhaps he's sneaking in some chill time while we're at school.

Mike's birthday celebration continued in Marietta as we celebrated at Kate and Johnny's.  In addition to a great meal, they topped it off with a cookie cake for the 40 year old!  We always love these times, for the adults, and the cousins, to bond!  Here Jack is showing Brooke his cool ipod tunes.

'Local Cutie on Duty' chilling on the deck with a popsicle.

Brooke got her first pedi!  Actually, it was a $5 polish change, but who's counting?  She giggled through the entire experience and, therefore, so did Mommy!

What's a birthday party without a firetruck?  Fortunately at Jackson's 3rd, we didn't have to find out!  Bryce and Brooke got to go play, climb on, sit in, AND RIDE on a real firetruck!  They loved it, hearing the siren, sitting in the driver's seat, and the cool backwards- facing seat for the ride!  And Mommy rode with them, standing up and looking forwards across the roof.  I must say, it really was cool!

While Brooke was showing off her dresses from her favorite designer- Addie Howells- all the cutest cousins are wearing her these days- Bryce had to get in on the action.  Heisman-style!

Remember? Remember that time Brooke went to bed at bed time and stayed there?

Yeah, me neither.

Here she is, at 9:15 pm.  She was obviously concerned about the trouble she was facing as Mommy entered the bathroom.  She demonstrated this by wiping the side of the tub (after lining up all the shampoo etc. bottles like soldiers), looking over her shoulder at me like a little devil er, I mean, ANGEL and stating:
"Look Mommy!  I'm cleaning!"

Ahhhh, summertime.
